Jeaniene Frost is an American author of paranormal romance and urban fantasy, best known for the Night Huntress series, which began with Halfway to the Grave in 2007. The series follows Catherine "Cat" Crawfield, a half-vampire hunter who is captured by and forms an uneasy, ultimately romantic alliance with Bones, a centuries-old vampire bounty hunter. Halfway to the Grave was selected as an Oprah Magazine pick among the best vampire books, and the Night Huntress series went on to span seven main novels plus spin-offs, becoming one of the defining series of the paranormal romance boom of the late 2000s and early 2010s. Frost has written extensively across paranormal romance and urban fantasy since, including the Broken Destiny and Night Prince series, and is known among readers for combining fast-paced action sequences with a sustained romantic slow burn between morally complicated leads.
