Mira Grant is the horror pen name of Seanan McGuire, an American author who writes across multiple genres under different identities to keep her tonal registers distinct for readers. Under the Grant name, she is best known for the Newsflesh trilogy, beginning with Feed (2010), a zombie novel set in a post-Rising America where independent bloggers have replaced traditional journalism as the public's only trusted news source. The trilogy was a finalist for the Hugo Award for Best Novel, an unusual honor for horror fiction within an award more commonly associated with science fiction, and Grant has said she built the series specifically to explore how institutions and information networks fail during prolonged crisis rather than to deliver conventional zombie action. As Seanan McGuire, she won the 2010 John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer and has published extensively across urban fantasy and horror, including the Parasitology series and Into the Drowning Deep. Grant/McGuire is known among genre readers for an unusually prolific output, often releasing multiple novels per year across her various series and pen names.

Notable works: Feed; Deadline; Blackout; the Newsflesh trilogy
