Ruth Ware is a British author of psychological thrillers frequently compared to Agatha Christie for their tightly plotted, closed-circle mysteries. Her novels, including In a Dark, Dark Wood, The Woman in Cabin 10, and The Turn of the Key, have been New York Times bestsellers and translated into more than 40 languages. The Woman in Cabin 10 (2016), a claustrophobic mystery set aboard a small luxury cruise ship where a journalist witnesses what she believes was a passenger thrown overboard, became one of her best-known books and was adapted into a 2025 Netflix film starring Keira Knightley. Ware has written under multiple pen names across different genres earlier in her career before finding success in psychological suspense, and continues to publish roughly a novel per year.
