Trevor Noah is a South African comedian, writer, and television host best known as the host of Comedy Central's The Daily Show from 2015 to 2022, succeeding Jon Stewart. Born in Johannesburg in 1984 to a Xhosa mother and a Swiss-German father, at a time when interracial relationships were illegal under apartheid, Noah has drawn extensively on his childhood for his stand-up comedy and writing. His 2016 memoir, Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood, became a #1 New York Times bestseller, and its self-narrated audiobook, produced by Audible, remains one of the platform's highest-rated and most-commented performances, having won an Audie Award for Best Male Narrator. Noah has won multiple Emmy Awards, hosted the Grammy Awards for six consecutive years, and continues to tour internationally as a stand-up comedian.
