Jake Gyllenhaal is an American actor known for films including Brokeback Mountain, for which he received an Academy Award nomination, Nightcrawler, and Donnie Darko. In 2013, authorized by the F. Scott Fitzgerald estate, Gyllenhaal narrated a new Audible edition of The Great Gatsby, voicing narrator Nick Carraway with what Audible's editors described as a faithful, unhurried delivery that lets the novel's vivid 1920s New York atmosphere breathe. The recording was a finalist for the Audie Award in the Classic category in 2014, and remains one of the most listened-to audio editions of Fitzgerald's novel.
